20 Yard Dumpster Rental in San Bernardino, CA

The 20 yard is the size most people ask for by name, and about half the time it is right. It handles a kitchen and bathroom together, a multi-layer roof, or a substantial clearance, and it still fits a standard residential driveway.

Specifications

  • Dimensions22 ft long x 8 ft wide x 4.5 ft high
  • Holds roughlyabout 6 pickup truck loads
  • Weight included3 to 4 tons included
  • Space neededroughly 60 ft of straight approach

What this size suits

  • Kitchen and bathroom remodels in the same phase
  • Multi-layer asphalt roof tear-offs
  • Large garage and yard clearances
  • Whole-house flooring removal
  • Newer subdivision remodels across the Inland Empire
  • Deck removal combined with yard clearance

Not the right choice for: Concrete, block, stucco, or decomposed-granite fill. Those need a 10 yard clean-load container regardless of quantity, because dense material hits legal transport weight fast.

Why it is the default choice

It sits at the point where volume and weight allowance balance for ordinary mixed renovation debris. On the newer subdivision housing across the Inland Empire, where the material is bulky rather than dense, the 20 yard fills properly before it gets heavy.

The roofing caveat

On an asphalt tear-off a 20 yard almost always reaches its tonnage before its volume. That is expected. Give us the square footage and the number of layers and we will say whether one container covers it or whether you need a swap.

Driveway footprint

At twenty-two feet it will occupy most of a standard two-car driveway lengthways. Tell us if you need to keep a vehicle accessible and we will position accordingly, or suggest the 15 yard instead.

Questions & Answers

20 Yard Dumpster: common questions

Is a 20 yard big enough for a whole-house clearance?

For a small house or a partial clearance, yes. For a fully furnished family home a 30 yard is the better answer, since household contents are bulky and you run out of space rather than weight.

Can I put concrete or heavy fill in a 20 yard?

No. Even a modest amount pushes it past legal transport weight. Concrete, block, stucco and decomposed-granite fill need a dedicated 10 yard, kept clean so it can be recycled.

Will it fit on my driveway?

Usually, though it takes up most of a two-car driveway lengthways. We need about 60 feet of straight approach plus roughly 23 feet of overhead clearance when the container is raised.
